Darin Ow-Wing
Executive Director

Darin joined CES as a volunteer in 1981 while majoring in Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley, and become Executive Director in 1994. Darin is the past Chairperson of the Mayor's Youth Employment & Education Program. He is a recipient of a 1996 Daniel E. Koshland Civic Unity Award, the 2002 Enola Maxwell Lifetime Service Award, and was a member of the 1998 class of Leadership San Francisco. Darin was also a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Community Network for Youth Development in San Francisco. Aside from leading CES, Darin co-created the Chinatown Beacon Center, the Galileo Health Academy, the Galileo College & Career Resource Center, and the San Francisco Environmental Service Learning Initiative (ESLI). In the past few years, Darin has served on numerous committees pertaining to after school programs, community/school collaboration, and family economic self-sufficiency.

His many interests include mountain biking, astronomy, exploring tide pools, gardening, world history, and helping his kids to keep their rabbits safe and happy. His goal is to engage young people in the twin challenges of achieving social equity and environmental balance.

Benjamin Horne
Director of Finance & Administration

When it comes to administering the accounting systems of CES, negotiating with vendors and partners, or managing government contracts, Ben is the administrative wizard behind the curtain. His unique understanding of the organizational needs of the agency as well as our partners helps CES maintain excellent relationships with our funders, partners, employees and service providers.

Ben has over 18 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business administration. An entrepreneur at heart, Ben started and has successfully managed his own business for the last 7 years. In addition, he has 7 years experience in the public accounting and consulting fields and previously held the lead finance position in several industries from governmental public affairs consulting firms and legal groups to large venture capital backed Internet startups. Ben holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Iowa.

Aimee Vicencio
Human Resources Coordinator

Aimee Vicencio joined CES with its merger with the Chinatown Beacon Center. From technology-infused curriculum development to youth leadership training, the breadth and depth of her interests and abilities has served CES' communities in various capacities. Aimee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science from the University of California at Berkeley. In 2008, she began coordinating CES' human resources. With compassion in her heart and a smile in her eyes, Aimee strives to empower her coworkers to make informed decisions about their employment.
