Volunteer

Want to make a difference in the life of a child?  Looking to give back to your community?  Want to join a community of caring adults who are invested in supporting youth?

CES seeks dedicated and motivated tutors, mentors, workshop leaders and administrative/ tech support throughout the year.  Please take a look at the descriptions below for volunteer learning opportunities.  We look forward to hearing from you!  For more information on CES’ volunteer program, contact volunteer@cessf.org.

  • Administrative Support

    Volunteers are placed at the CES administrative offices and provide general office and technological support.  Other duties may be event coordination and set-up and translation if applicable.  Click here for a volunteer application.

  • Elementary School Tutor

    Volunteer as an afterschool tutor at one of our 7 elementary afterschool programs in Chinatown and surrounding neighborhoods.  Assist students with homework and provide supervision during recess or arts enrichment time.  Afterschool programs run Monday through Friday after 2PM.  Chinese or Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.   • Mentor at Francisco Connection

    The Buddy Program provides the opportunity for youth to develop positive, supportive, transformative relationships with caring adults. Now entering its fifth year, the Buddy Program is looking for committed adults to mentor youth at Francisco Middle School in North Beach.  Mentors come in one hour a week during the school’s lunch break, as well as participate in planned social time with youth mentees.
